Campaign Withdrawals?

For months, Obama supporters have walked, slept and dreamed Obama. If you look anywhere on the Internet, there are support groups all over the place talking Obama. Obama this, Obama that. People were blogging Obama with a vengeance (me included) and no one would have expected what has happened afterwards.

Now that the campaign is over, there are people drifting around, with no purpose in life. They had a drive. Now that drive is over and until something else comes along that will take up all their days and nights, they are walking zombies with nothing to look forward to. Reminds me of the aftermath of the American Idol competition. Now there's no real reason to sit by the TV every Tuesday and Wednesday night and root and holler for your favorite contestant.

All that is gone.

No more Tina Fey (say it isn't so!)

No more watching McCain's funny arm jerkings and eye rollings.

No more hearing about Sarah Palins clothing expenditure, luggage purchases and "I can see Russia from my back door!"

Nothing.

Nothing.

Nothing.

Someone has captured the Obama election results aftermath and it's not a pretty picture. Maybe something else will come along to give us focus. A reason to get up in the morning. Who knows. Meanwhile, enjoy this video. It's not a pretty picture. Downright pathetic. Please, if you recognize anyone in this video, give them a hug. Feed them supper. But keep them away from the TV. They need to get their lives back. Me included. Enjoy...

  1. Wow I've got to get that Voki Halloween thing there to the left down.

Sad, isn't it, Tracee? The TV is so...so...quiet.

  2. Let down after any of this is natural. January blues come because of a let down after the excitement of Christmas and New Years. A honeymoon is a way to extend the excitement of a wedding but the couple will still start feeling the let down. It is to be expected. Now we get back to life until the next excitement.

  3. Thanks for your comment, Karen! I guess you're right. I've been out in blogland and a lot of the posts are about being glad it's over. I guess I'm glad, but it's going to be a long time before American Idol starts and that's when I get really excited again!

  5. I'll miss the skits on Saturday Night Live with Tina Fey as Sarah Palin, but I'm glad it's over.

  6. I for one am glad the election commercials are over. Now we can watch different commercials about food and pop and cars and viagra!

  7. Oh, I don't think the world is quite done with McCain/Palin just yet. Not when all the campaign secrets can now come out. With such easy cannon fodder, it'll be hard for people to let go easily...

  10. What "let down?" Anyone needing something to do -come by my house and I can present folks with all kinds of things -from chasing after my grandkids, keeping scissors away from the granddaughter -stop by and see what she did to her hair today. I could use someone to read my favorite bloggers posts to me so I could then concentrate on planning my food to prepare for the next two back-to-back holidays. Or, someone to give me a hand re-arranging my room so I can squeeze in there and do some sewing -Christmas gifts need made up ya know. Find me a way to be able to stay awake to finish reading several books I have stacked up on my dresser, time needed to work on my embroidery projects of which there are many and lots and lots of other things. Post-election though I'm am seeing a big time savings already with the huge cutback in the all the freaking phone calls we had been getting that interrupted my daily routines drastically with their incessant ringing, recorded pleas to vote for this one or that one. Frees up lots of time for me! Just still not enough though.
